Hoolock Consulting Privacy Policy

This is the privacy policy for Hoolock Consulting Limited.  As we don’t like being contacted by random strangers, we take the privacy of all of our visitors and contacts very seriously.

This policy covers all data that is shared by a visitor with us whether directly or indirectly. This policy has been written by ourselves having taken account of as much advice as we have been able to find.  If there are any questions or comments about this policy, please direct them to tim@hoolock-consulting.com.

Our Policy

We only collect personal information on a voluntary basis.  If you choose to sign up to receive our weekly sales tips, we will only store the information that we request from you, namely your name, the company where you work and your role in that company and your email address.

This information is securely stored in MailChimp to enable the sales tips to be quickly and easily sent.  The location of the servers storing this information is a mystery to us but we are assured that the information is securely held.  Only Hoolock Consulting employees can access the MailChimp account via a username and password and a second level of security.  MailChimp keeps track of whether you have opened an email, when you opened it and how many times you opened it.  When you sign up, you agree to your information being held in this way.

We will send you an email, via MailChimp, every week.  This email will include the opportunity to unsubscribe to the service which you are entitled to do at any time.  Otherwise, we will only ever contact you regarding sales training and consultancy.  We will never pass on your information to any other organisation for any reason unless legally compelled to do so.

Should you choose to opt out, the system will automatically keep a record of your opt-out so that we know that you have done so.  We promise not to contact you ever again after this.

If you contact us directly via email, then these emails will be stored.  Our email service is provided by Google so access is available to these emails online and offline via Outlook.  We trust that Google keeps all of this information secure.  We limit online access to emails as much as possible to limit the potential for security breaches.  Offline email, in Outlook, is stored on a PC with the usual Windows security.

Hoolock Consulting uses all reasonable security measures to ensure that any and all personal information that is collected is protected. We take strong precautions to protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Obviously, nothing is perfect but we will do our best to protect your personal data.  We cannot guarantee the security of your data in transit so any submission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use reasonable measures to try to prevent unauthorised access.

The data that Hoolock Consulting collects from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the UK although no one from outside of the UK will have direct access to any of it.   By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

We use cookies and similar technologies to run our website and help us understand how you use it.  This includes what pages you have looked at and where you are located.  However, there is nothing that tells us who you actually are!

We look at this information out of interest but never actually do anything with it.  This is not because we don't want to, we just have no idea how to use it effectively.  If you do not accept cookies, then none will be sent.

Our website includes SSL certificates for encryption.  Search engines will only index the secure version of the site and visitors will only ever be able to access the secure version.

Our website contains links to some of our clients’ websites.  These websites will have their own privacy policy which should be noted.  Hoolock Consulting has no control over these websites or their privacy policies.

If you download a report or other document from our website, we may require you to provide certain information about yourself including your name, company, role and email address. You will be given the opportunity to opt-in to receive further information regarding other products which we believe that you may be interested in based on the information that you have provided us with.  We believe that this is a legitimate business interest for a company that wishes to provide services to customers and potential customers.  You may request to terminate these communications at any time.  This information will be stored in MailChimp and should you choose to opt out, the system will automatically keep a record of your opt-out so that we know that you have done so.  We promise not to contact you ever again after this.

If you provide us with a business card when we meet, we will consider that you have willingly provided us with certain personal information.  We will store your business card both physically and electronically.  We may therefore contact you again after that initial meeting to discuss subjects that we believe will be of interest to you.  We will endeavour to limit any such contact to a small number of contacts in any one year.  If at any stage you no longer wish to be contacted please inform us and we will refrain from doing so.  We will keep a record of your details together with the notification that you no longer wish to be contacted.
